Run Me That Laundry Caddy, Though!

So, I’m a little late with this post, give or take 21 hours. My bad. If it’s any consolation, I was trying to create somethin’ to put some smiles on your faces.
Finally, I got my photo together for Luxe Laundry’s Creative Laundry Photo Contest.

It took some doin’, but the process wasn’t too stressful. I don’t have a tripod, so I used my round towel basket, which set atop a wooden banister/rail/fence thing, in front of a neighboring apartment building. Because my camera isn’t waterproof, I took a box with me, to serve as a protective awning for my camera (rain damage is real). Had I thought about it, I’d’ve photo-journaled my process. I’d go on and recreate the scene, but it’s my day off, and I’ll just be damned if I go back outside.

Yes, my neighbors must’ve thought I was totally nuts to have my clothes –skivvies included– spread out over my car. They probably thought I’d lost my mind when they saw me dunkin’ my clothes in the gutter water, too. (Hush it. The rain wouldn’t fall on cue, and I needed the clothes to be wet.) Those with good sense probably figured I was photographing something, hence the presence of the camera. Regardless, I had to remind myself that makin’ an ass of myself is half the fun of doin’ some of what I do.

Movin’ along: I wanna thank Phyllis Magee, Head Eco-Laundress at Luxe Laundromat, for hostin’ this contest. It’s given me a creative outlet, and a chance to show-up for someone else in a way that really works for me. I hope I win, and even if I don’t gain that glory, just know that I had a ball puttin’ this together.

Until next time, and all power to Madame P!

Thanks, Phyllis.
